What to Expect

Paperless Intakes

Prior to scheduling your first appointment you will talk with Tisha or Chris depending on which location you will be at and they will help you complete all of your documents in your very own client portal, answer all of your questions about billing and place you with the therapist that best fits your needs.

Your First Visit

At your first visit, you will meet your therapist for the first time and complete an assessment interview where you and your therapist will get to know each other while beginning to formulate a plan of treatment.

Your Second Visit

At your second visit, you and your therapist will continue to build the therapeutic relationship while working to further identify your goals and establish an individualized treatment plan you both agree on.

Who Facilitates Group Therapy?

The group is facilitated by a skilled therapist who is experienced in creating a therapeutic environment and a supportive Certified Peer Support Specialist who has been successful in the recovery process and is ready to help support others experiencing similar situations.

What Do We Do in Group Therapy ?

Your team is ready with a blend of psychoeducation, process work, skill building, group discussion, journaling, self-compassion techniques and action planning for prevention and recovery using various treatment modalities such as DBT, CBT, and mindfulness to support your goals.

Why You Should Try Group Therapy?

Looking to jump start your personal growth, gain new perspectives, find your safe space, or just need a sounding board? Our Dual Diagnosis groups are for anyone with a mental health and/or substance abuse diagnosis. Group therapy can be effective as a standalone treatment or paired with individual therapy. For some, adding a weekly group as part of their treatment plan can increase positive outcomes in therapy. In other words, you will feel better faster!

Where Do We Meet?

Group will meet at our office on the the Square in Independence, Missouri. In order to join the group, you will need an assessment interview with one of our skilled therapists first.

When Do We Meet?

This supportive open group meets once a week on Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 pm. Group size will be 12 or under plus the group facilitators.
